In January 2006 I posted about the mysterious new show Channel Nine was hyping called 'The Secret'. You can read the post here.
Now, a year later, I heard Jeff McBride mention a movie called 'The Secret' on his latest email. Jeff said: "The Secret is a new movie that one of my students, Robert Ray, told me about. The Secret is a film about the Law of Attraction. This is a Hermetic principle of making thoughts manifest into physical reality. The Secret is based on The Emerald Tablet, which is the most ancient of all Hermetic texts. The Emerald Tablet is a formula for transmuting lead into gold."
I wondered, could it be the same show? It is! The Internet Movie Database proved to be a wealth of information here, and it's well worth reading some of the Message Boards where fans of the "documentary" explain what it's all about: "The message of this documentary is that you are the sole creator of your life and circumstances. The universe exists to fulfil your every desire, and there is a system you can use to manifest whatever you want."
It looks like I was wrong by assuming 'The Secret' was 'The Master Key System'... it's much simpler than that, it's 'The Law of Attraction'. Think hard enough, and it will be. Pure New Age, self help, motivational rubbish. I wonder why Chuck Waller had the hyde to be so upset about me being negative about 'The Secret'. (Read the comments on the original post).
