It's been eight years since his last trip to Australia and his new lecture features effects for stand up, close up and mentalism performers.
You can read all about Danny and the contents of his lecture here.
Just heard that 'The Age' article on magic (profiling us and young magician David McLeod) should appear in Thursday's paper. Apparently the photo turned out well so it should be very interesting...
For those of you who are interested in such things, I've added a new photo gallery to the blog featuring some of the images I've created over the years playing with Photoshop. CLICK HERE to go directly to it.
We just saw a brilliant film we both highly recommend to everyone: Lars and the Real Girl.
The plot is ridiculous, so it's better you go without any knowledge, but the acting, directing and scriptwriting combine seamlessly to pull off a truly beautiful love story.
You might have to look hard in the cinema listings to track this one down, but it's absolutely worth the effort.
Gone Baby Gone, very good film. Gritty, true to life, tackles the hard topics and really worth a look.
Deception, absolute tripe. A con film that is, itself, a con. Don't let them steal you movie money.
I came across a Young Talent Time fansite today and on it they listed the contents of the last 8 years of episodes. It was fascinating to see just how many magicians appeared on TV from 1980 to 1988 thanks to that show. (It would be very interesting to see who appeared on the episodes from 1971 to 1980).
Unfortunately the website doesn't list the names of contestants, just what they did, and there were plenty of magicians! (Myself, Duck Cameron, Paul Bowen, and so many others).
So, take a look at this who's who of magicians (I wonder if anyone has ALL of these performances on tape?) and I know it's not complete but it's fascinating nonetheless:

For those heading to Beijing for FISM next year, as soon as you get off the plane you'll be amazed by the world's largest building - their new Capital International Airport. Take a look at it here.
We mentioned the BBC magician/teacher reality show 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'. Here are some clips from last season's episodes:
