I haven't done a movie review for a while but I just came back from one that was not only genuinely entertaining, but it was Australian too!
The film is RED DOG. The true story of a legendary dog from the 1970's in the Pilbara mining area of remote Western Australia.
From the moment the movie began I was sucked in by the look, the style and the classic Aussie music. Every detail was, to me, authentic of the period and the place, and it was rendered on screen so lovingly that I had a grin from ear to ear most of the time, and tears streaming down my face the rest.
It's certainly not an innovative piece of cinema but, in my opinion, it's a heart-warming story extremely well told. Definitely worth a look!
