The Asylum cannot be stopped!
Take a look at some of their recent titles.
Alan Quatermain and the Temple of Skulls - "This is what Indiana Jones would have been without a script, a budget, costuming and casting." IMDb reader.
100 Million BC - "I've seen some computer games A FEW YEARS ago, which had better/ more compelling stories and SFX than this movie.." IMDb reader
Journey To The Center Of The Earth - "This was by far the worst movie I have ever seen. Special effects were dreadful. Acting was so horrifyingly terrible, it will haunt my dreams for the rest of my life. I would be surprised if I ever saw another movie made by this director and producer. It looked as if it were made back in the early 1900's" - IMDb reader
Death Racers - with the remake of 'Death Race' just out in the USA.
2012 Doomsday - this one came out a month before Roland Emmerich's big budget 2012 was scheduled, but the big budget version got delayed and is still filming. Hopefully that really hurt this rip-off... but still, it got some better than expected reviews: "I hope the makers of this movie are happy, they made me waste 1,5 hours of my life a left me puzzled with greatest question of all time: will there ever be a movie thats worse then this? I have to say I started watching this movie with skeptic thoughts in my mind, but not even in my worst nightmares would I have seen what was before me. The only time I could recommend spending time with this movie is ... well lets face it: never." IMDb reader
And, with the remake of 'The Day The Earth Stood Still' starring Keanu Reeves coming out this Christmas, a week before The Asylum will release
But my favourite rip off... coming out this month
and the writer/director of this inspirational Christian film is Rachel Lee Goldenberg...
But, just when you thought you'd seen it all from The Asylum, what's lined up for 2009? 'The 18 Year Old Virgin'. Did they even get the original joke?
